Samah Hadid is a campaigner, advocate and writer.  She is the Global Executive Director of Musawah, a global south based organisation advancing women's rights in Muslim contexts. She is a regular commentator on human rights and humanitarian issues particularly in the Middle East and Asia Pacific.

She  was the Middle East Director of Campaigns/Deputy Regional Director for Amnesty International based in the Beirut regional office , Head of Advocacy and Media for NRC MENA and served as Country Director  for Global Citizen.

She has also advised UN agencies on human rights issues and development policy through her roles with the National Commission for UNESCO , as a member of the UN Experts Meeting Group on Youth and as a fellow with the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights.

Samah has also worked throughout the Middle East and Africa in advocacy roles with feminist organization Nazra and Oxfam International.

She has published opinions pieces in the  The Guardian, CNN, The Independent and Asia Times , and provided commentary in the New York Times, Washington Post, Reuters,  AP, BBC International and Al Jazeera. She has also co authored several books including  - The Future by Us and Future Chasers.

Samah has been named one of the top 100 Leaders of Tomorrow by the St Gallen Institute.
